Last week we announced some new offerings to you our customers. We added Cotton+Steel, Sew Liberated, Merchant & Mills, Colette, Green Bee Design and Grainline Stuidos Patterns. These six fabric, pattern and notions-based companies are spearheading the store’s expansion from strictly knitwear into fashion and giving Triangle area sewers a local alternative for dressmaking supplies.
With a focus on local and indie dressmakers, we sought out partnerships that would boast fabrics that were rich in unique, eclectic designs and patterns that were not only stylish and wearable, but also shape-conscious.
Cotton+Steel’s premier line features strong, colorful vintage motifs. Sew Liberated, a design studio based out of Chapel Hill, will have all of its womenswear patterns represented in the shop. Merchant & Mills of the UK, a fabric, notions and pattern design company, has supplied us with a variety of its thoughtful notions and patterns. Colette, a company that specializes in straightforward patterns designed to teach all levels of sewers. Green Bee Design and GrainLine Stuido patterns will also see some of its women’s patterns on the shelves.
“It was always my vision to combine knitwear and fashion within the shop. “The fabrics and patterns will be featured alongside the yarns in order to show our customers how well knitwear and dressmaking complement each other and simultaneously create the perfect look"
