Wonky Star QuiltDownTown Knits
The Wonky Star quilt is a colorful and fun project that allows you to use your own creativity while learning the basic skills necessary to complete an entire quilt. This is a 3 session series which will require “homework” in order to complete the quilt within the timeline of the classes.
When: Thursdays, August 2nd, 16th, and 30th

Cost: $75 + supplies (to be purchased at Downtown Knits)
Supplies: Quilt Fabric
½ yard or 2 fat quarters for star background
4 -5 fat quarters or 1 – 1 ¼ yards assorted fabrics for stars and block borders
1 yard for backing
¼ yard for binding – not a fat quarter
1 yard batting
Coordinating thread, basic sewing kit, safety pins (used to pin the quilt sandwich together) and a sewing machine. A few sewing machines are available for a $5 fee, please call the shop to reserve one. If you bring your own machine, please be sure it is in good mechanical condition and that you have the necessary parts, instruction manual, needles and bobbins to use during class.
Pattern: supplied by instructor
Optional: If you have them, rotary cutter, quilt rulers, cutting mat but don't purchase these if you do not currently own them.
If you have a walking foot and quilting guide, bring them for the machine quilting. Again, don't purchase it if you do not you currently have one.
Level: This is a intermediate beginner class. Students should know how to use their sewing machine and some knowledge of rotary cutting is helpful.
