Join us as we knit a pair of stranded fingerless mitts! Pawkies, by Kate Davies, are ideal for taking the chill off your hands on a brisk day in North Carolina, leaving your fingers free fro texting, foraging mushrooms, holding your dog's leash, etc. They can also be worn in a cold office, leaving your fingers free to work on your computer.

When: Saturdays, January 13, 20, & 27 (three sessions)

Time: 1-2:30pm

Instructor: Kim Garnett

Cost: $45, plus materials to be purchased at DTK

Skill Level: Intermediate (student must have some experience with stranded knitting)

Skills Learned: how to perform tubular cast-on and knit stranded mitts with a thumb, plus some tips and tricks for knitting mitts and stranded knitting

Pattern: Pawkies by Kate Davies

Yarn: Two skeins DK weight yarn (~100yds each) in contrasting colors. We used Acadia by The Fibre Co in Mountain Ash and Cranberry

Needles: US3 DPNs or 32" circular for Magic Loop, US4 or US5 (depending on the size you knit) DPN or 32" circular for Magic Loop

Notions: locking stitch markers, darning needle
