Ebony Dress Sewing ClassDownTown Knits
An elegant basic featuring a fluidly draped silhouette, the Ebony Dress (view A) is a versatile wardrobe staple you’ll want to wear every day. Learn to make a swingy knit dress with your choice of scoop or jewel neckline, and long or 3/4 sleeves. If you've been wanting to learn to sew with jersey knits, this is the class for you! Students will learn to cut out their pattern, set in a knit sleeve, create a neck band and hem. Students should already know how to use their sewing machine and understand basic seam work. This class is designed to use regular sewing machines.

Jersey Knit Fabric: Sizes 0-6 = 2yd, 8-14 = 2.25yd, 16-20 = 2.5yd
Jersey Stretch Needles
Coordinating thread, basic sewing kit and a sewing machine. A few sewing machines are available for a $5 fee, please call the shop to reserve one as numbers are limited. If you bring you own machine, please be sure your machine is in good mechanical condition and that you have the necessary parts, machine instruction manual, needles and bobbins, to use during class.
